The company reports customers in 170 countries and says its technology is licensed by more than 150 of the world's technology brands. Bitdefender Labs states that it discovers 400 new threats every minute and validates 30 billion threat queries daily. Recent releases include GravityZone PHASR, which applies dynamic, personalised hardening to reduce attack surface, and Bitdefender is the cybersecurity partner of Ferrari.
Bitdefender was founded in 2001 in Romania and is headquartered in Bucharest, with research, security operations and sales centres across 15 countries and innovation centres in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Targu Mures and Timisoara. It sells to consumers, small and medium businesses and enterprises, and its products are reviewed by industry analyst firms and independent testing organisations.
