Hornetsecurity sells cloud security for Microsoft 365, largely through channel partners and managed service providers rather than direct. Its flagship bundle, 365 Total Protection, covers email security - premium spam and malware filtering, phishing and advanced threat protection, automated email encryption, signatures and disclaimers - together with email archiving for compliance and business continuity, backup and recovery of Microsoft 365 data, security awareness training, and access, permission and domain-fraud protection. A newer AI assistant layer adds features such as recipient validation and Teams protection, and products are sold as tiered plans from a basic email security option up to the full bundle.

Publicly, Hornetsecurity reports operating in more than 120 countries through a network of over 12,000 channel partners and MSPs, serving more than 125,000 customers with a team of over 750 specialists, and it counts more than 600 industry awards. Customer data is held in its own regional data centres, certified to ISO 27001, SOC 1 and SOC 2, HIPAA and DIN 50600 among others. Partners it names on its site include Konica Minolta, Portformance, IT-Formation and Neumeier AG, and it publishes an annual cybersecurity report built on an analysis of 72 billion emails.

Hornetsecurity GmbH is based at Am Listholze 78 in Hanover, Germany, with further entities across Europe, North America and Japan, and it has been operating for about 15 years. It sells cloud services hosted on its own infrastructure rather than software to install, and its mission is written entirely around the Microsoft 365 estate: protecting email, data, continuity and compliance for organisations of all sizes, with the MSP channel as the route to most of them.
