Business overview

Coolify is an open-source, self-hostable platform-as-a-service that you install on a Linux server of your own. It connects to that server over SSH and turns it into a deployment target: static sites, APIs, backends, databases and any Docker-compatible service can be managed from its web panel. It positions itself explicitly as the alternative to Vercel, Heroku, Netlify and Railway. It drives Docker containers and a reverse proxy, and issues and renews Let's Encrypt certificates for custom domains automatically.

Applications deploy from Git, with integration for GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Gitea and other providers via deploy keys and webhooks, including separate preview deployments for pull requests. Beyond applications it offers one-click installation of more than 280 services, scheduled backups to any S3-compatible storage, a REST API and webhooks for CI/CD pipelines, a real-time terminal in the browser, multi-server deployments, team sharing with per-member roles and permissions, and monitoring that notifies through Discord, Telegram or email. Deployments can go to a plain VPS, a Raspberry Pi, or instances at providers such as Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Linode and AWS EC2. The project also sells Coolify Cloud, a managed instance of the same product starting at $5 a month, which the site says has 3,641+ customers, and its documentation cites a Discord community of more than 19,000 members.

Coolify is developed in the open by an international team, coolLabs, founded by Andras Bacsai and registered in Hungary. The self-hosted version is free and open source, and the company describes that as permanent rather than a trial; all settings live on your own servers, so an installation keeps working even if you stop using the project's services.

It brings the push-to-deploy workflow of Heroku or Vercel to a server you already pay for: deployments, databases, SSL and backups all run there, and nothing is tied to the vendor.
