Odoo

Odoo is an open-source suite of business applications — ERP, CRM and back-office modules — built on Python and PostgreSQL and sold as one modular platform. Instead of buying separate systems, a company installs apps one at a time as needs grow: CRM, sales, invoicing and accounting, inventory, manufacturing, purchase, project and timesheets, HR, eCommerce, website, email marketing, point of sale and helpdesk. It ships in two editions: Community, which is open source and free, and Enterprise, which adds applications, hosting infrastructure and professional services. The same software runs in Odoo's cloud, on Odoo.sh, or self-hosted on premise.

Odoo maintains around 50 main applications and an app store where the community has contributed tens of thousands more. The company counts over 28 million users, from single-user startups to enterprises of 300,000+ users, supported by 21,000+ partners and 8,000+ employees. Pricing is a single per-user rate — US$24.90 per month for all apps — with no usage-based tiers or long-term contracts. Because the underlying database is standard PostgreSQL and the source code is available, customers can host on Odoo's infrastructure or bring their own, and customise modules through the Odoo.sh development platform.

Odoo is a Belgian company founded by Fabien Pinckaers, who remains CEO. Its headquarters and main R&D site are in Grand-Rosière, Belgium, and the group keeps offices in Antwerp, Louvain-la-Neuve, Luxembourg, Berlin, Milan, Valencia, Dubai, Nairobi, Gujarat, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Gold Coast, San Francisco, Buffalo, Mexico City and Curitiba. The product is positioned as the most installed business software in the world, and the open-source development model is central to its strategy.
