Business overview

Deezer is a music streaming service with web, mobile, desktop and connected-device apps. Listeners stream a catalogue of more than 120 million tracks plus podcasts, on a free ad-supported tier or paid plans from $11.99 per month that add ad-free listening, offline downloads, mixes and playlists, lyrics with translation, and lossless HiFi audio. Flow, its long-running personalised mix, SongCatcher for identifying music playing nearby, and in-app music quizzes are among its signature features.

The service is available in more than 180 countries and translated into 26 languages. Deezer's investor pages report 9.7 million subscribers as of 31 December 2024, €542M revenue for 2024, more than 600 employees, and a place as the second-largest independent music platform globally by subscriber numbers. Distribution partnerships with Orange, TIM Brazil, RTL and Mercado Libre are central to its growth strategy, and it renewed or signed new deals with TF1+, DAZN and others in 2024. In 2023 it introduced an artist-centric payment model for streaming, and in 2025 it added AI detection tools and a tagging system for fully AI-generated music, which it says scans playlists with 99.8% accuracy.

Deezer was founded in 2007 in Paris, where it is still headquartered, and has been listed on Euronext Paris since its 2022 merger with I2PO. It describes itself as one of the world's largest independent music experiences platforms, with teams in France, Germany, the UK, Brazil and the US, and reported positive free cash flow for the first time in 2025.

Value proposition

Its built-in transfer tool imports playlists and favourites from another streaming service in a few clicks, so switching to Deezer does not mean rebuilding a library by hand.
