Business overview

Internxt is encrypted cloud storage. Files are encrypted on the user's own device before upload, so the server holds nothing readable, and post-quantum cryptography is layered on top of that zero-knowledge design. The clients are published as open source on GitHub. Beyond Drive there is Photos, Send for end-to-end encrypted file transfer, a VPN and, listed as forthcoming on the pricing page, Mail.

The pricing page lists AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, verified in a 2024 audit by Securitum, plus ISO 27001:2022-certified infrastructure, GDPR compliance, a HIPAA-compliant plan, SOC 2 compliance, two-factor authentication and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Storage starts at 1 GB free, with Essential at 1 TB, Premium at 3 TB and Ultimate at 5 TB, and one-time lifetime plans that can be stacked to 100 TB. File size limits are 10, 50 or 100 GB per file depending on tier, trash retention runs 7, 14 or 30 days, and the paid tiers include CLI, WebDAV, NAS and Rclone support plus VPN locations in France, Germany, Poland, Canada and the UK. Levante UD is named as a partner and official user of the service, and the company cites a Deloitte Fast 50 award.

Internxt is based in Valencia and bills itself as the European alternative to the large US providers. It was founded and is led by Fran Villalba Segarra as CEO. The code is open source but the service itself is vendor-hosted, so there is no self-hosted deployment to run. The company states that it never stores passwords or user data.

Value proposition

Because files are encrypted on the device and the clients are public on GitHub, a legal or healthcare team can verify the zero-knowledge architecture itself instead of taking a provider's word for it.
