Business overview
Pirsch is a cookie-free web analytics service. Instead of tagging visitors with cookies or client-side identifiers, it recognises them server-side using fingerprinting: a hash built from the visitor's IP address, User-Agent header, the current date and a salt, which keeps the statistics anonymous and removes the need for a consent banner. Sites are wired up with a JavaScript snippet, a plugin for popular CMSs and website builders, or a server-side SDK, so traffic still shows up for visitors running ad blockers. The product began as an open-source Go library for server-side traffic analysis.
The dashboard covers sessions, events and conversion goals, custom event metrics such as e-commerce revenue, funnels, tags for segmentation and A/B testing. Teams get member roles, shared or white-labelled dashboards, unique access links and automatic email reports, with a REST API, SDKs, webhooks and importers for Google Analytics, Plausible and Fathom. Plans start at $6 per month for 10,000 monthly page views; $12 adds unlimited websites, funnels, A/B testing, custom domains and white labelling, while Enterprise adds managed cloud setup, on-premise installation, SAML single sign-on and raw data access. The company counts over 500 customers and hundreds of millions of monthly page views across thousands of sites.
The service is run by Emvi Software GmbH, the German company that Marvin Blum and Daniel Schramm founded in 2019 for their first product, Emvi. The hosted dashboard is the commercial part of the business, while the core collection library stays open source, so the way data is gathered is public and anyone can build a dashboard on it. The company works out of Rheda-Wiedenbrück in Germany and keeps customer data on servers in Germany.
Value proposition
Visitor statistics are computed from a server-side hash rather than stored identifiers, so there is no cookie banner to manage and ad blockers no longer silently remove part of your traffic — with existing Google Analytics, Plausible or Fathom history imported on the way in.
