Open Telekom Cloud

Open Telekom Cloud — now marketed as T Cloud Public — is Deutsche Telekom's public cloud, a fully OpenStack-based infrastructure-as-a-service platform rather than a proprietary hyperscaler stack. It sells computing and containers, storage, networking, databases and analytics, security, management tools and managed services, with pay-as-you-go billing and a price calculator. Buyers reach it through a web console, a marketplace of preconfigured images and applications, and a partner network, and the same tenant can be combined with other clouds in a multi-cloud setup.

Data processing stays inside European regions: a twin-core region in Germany at Biere and Magdeburg, a second region in the Netherlands, and complementary offerings in Switzerland. The service holds ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 certification, BSI C5:2020 Type II attestation and TISAX, and encrypts data in transit and at rest with network segmentation. AI services are offered on the condition that models and training data remain in Europe, and support runs around the clock in German and English. Named users include the European Space Agency for Sentinel satellite data, Creditreform, Randstad, ROLAND Rechtsschutz, Swiss Federal Railways and the Munich Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Deutsche Telekom develops and operates the platform in Europe and positions it as the European alternative to US hyperscalers, aimed at public administration, critical infrastructure, healthcare, financial services, industry and mid-sized companies. German data centres and European law are the procurement argument, alongside support for NIS2 requirements. Audit reports, technical and organisational measures and data processing agreements are available to customers. The service is marking ten years of cloud operations from Europe.
