Business overview

Fuga Cloud is a Dutch self-service public cloud built on OpenStack. It sells infrastructure by consumption rather than by contract - virtual machines, object storage and managed Kubernetes are the core of it - and is aimed at organisations that want a sovereign European alternative to the hyperscale providers, working on open standards rather than vendor lock-in.

The platform is run across regions and described as 100% EU-hosted, with infrastructure certified to ISO 27001 and NEN 7510. Managed Kubernetes clusters come with a 99.9% SLA, autoscaling and hibernation; object storage is fully redundant and scales automatically; load balancers include health monitoring and arrive in three flavours; and cloud instances deploy in seconds across a wide range of operating systems. A European transactional email service is sold separately from 5 EUR per month for the first 10,000 emails, then 0.50 EUR per 1,000. Published customer stories name WebHarvest, which migrated off Microsoft Azure, CloudSheet, Roseman Labs and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

Fuga Cloud was launched in 2016 as the public OpenStack cloud of Cyso, a managed hosting provider founded in 1997 in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, and described by its owners as the oldest independent hosting provider in the country. On 1 January 2025 the cloud business was taken into Cyso and renamed Cyso Cloud; fuga.cloud now serves the Cyso Cloud brand. Cyso Group employs close to 60 people and runs its own network and data centres in the Netherlands and Germany.
