Nhost is a backend platform for application developers: instead of assembling a database, API, auth and storage from separate vendors, a team gets them as one stack. It combines PostgreSQL, a real-time GraphQL API generated by Hasura, authentication, file storage behind a CDN and serverless JavaScript/TypeScript functions, with a container runtime for services in any language and an AI toolkit built on pgvector. Developers run the entire stack locally with the Nhost CLI, keep configuration as infrastructure as code and deploy with a git push; SDKs cover JavaScript/TypeScript along with Dart and Flutter, and the platform is frontend-agnostic.

Nhost Cloud runs in 6 regions on 4 continents with more than 80 CDN locations. Starter is free for one active project with 1 GB of database and 1 GB of storage; Pro starts at $25 a month with 10 GB of database, 50 GB of storage, automated backups, point-in-time recovery and managed Grafana metrics; Team at $599 a month adds SOC 2 Type II and connections to external databases; Enterprise adds SLAs and dedicated clusters. Compute is billed per minute on top, at $15 per vCPU core a month shared or $50 dedicated, each core with 2 GB of memory. Named customers include Midnight Society, which launched a game to more than 400,000 users in six weeks, plus React Flow and Revtron.

The stack is open source under the MIT licence and can be self-hosted in full, so the same Postgres, GraphQL, auth, storage and functions can run on a customer's own infrastructure. Nhost AB is a Swedish private company registered in the Stockholm commercial register (559224-1359) at Tallasstigen 4, 141 71 Segeltorp; the team has been remote-first since day 0, and its investors include GitHub founder Tom Preston-Werner and Netlify's co-founders.

The whole stack - Postgres, GraphQL, auth, storage and functions - is open source and self-hostable, so a team can start on managed Nhost Cloud and later run the identical backend on its own infrastructure, keeping the SQL database and files portable instead of rewriting onto a proprietary backend.
